Ruben Poncia

Native of The Hague (The Netherlands), Ruben Poncia began his career as a musician playing guitar and harmonica. Despite concerts all over the country and a beginning of success, this is not enough for him. As a painter and illustrator, he decided in 1996 to become professional.

He started to work for the cinema as well as the theatre by producing promotional panel as theatre decoration sets. Followed murals, shop signs, illustrations and cartoons for magazines.

Now he spends most of his time performing in festivals around the world. Based on acrylic and oil painting, he mainly makes anamorphoses both surreal and just as real as life.

For Ruben, street art is a constant challenge ! Creating an artwork in a limited space and time that will disappear as fast as it was created !

In addition to his many awards, Ruben is twice recorded in the World Guinness Book for having made the greatest anamorphoses.
