2017 Festival Review
The 1st International Street Art Festival of Oyonnax its :
- 3 days of festival
- 11 international artists (including 6 women and 5 men)
- 7 countries
- 3 continents represented
- 14 artworks
- 9 months of preparation
- 18 volunteers
- 43 partners
- More than 2.800 unique visitors
- 82 children welcomed to creative workshops
After 9 months of preparation, the 1st International Festival of Street Art of Oyonnax met a real success ! Success due, first, to the quality of 11 artists coming from all over the world (Mexico, Hong Kong, Russia, Italy ...).
The public, mainly from Oyonnax and its surroundings, was able to admire and follow the evolution during 3 days of the works realized on the ground as well on vertical panels. With chalk or painting, these works amazed both children and adults. It was also the occasion for the visitors to exchange with the artists on their artistic choices, the colors, the effects of style, etc ... enriching moments also for the artists who could transmit their passion and who knows, can be born vocations.
Note that the festival has resonated beyond the borders of Haut-Bugey since we had the pleasure to welcome visitors from Bourg-en-Bresse, Lons-le-Saunier, Lyon, Grenoble, Paris and even Zurich (Switzerland).
A creative workshop was made especially for children who could, with chalk, free their imagination by drawing on the ground. Other workshops, led by the artists themselves, were improvised during the festival to the delight of the kids.
Beyond the artistic aspect, the tourist approach is not forgotten. Hosted by volunteer families, the artists were able to discover the region, taste typical dishes and leave with local gifts. They are now the ambassadors of Haut-Bugey are in Saint-Petersburg, Taiwan, Roma, Mexico City, Tokyo, etc.
At the end of this first edition, the opinions were unanimous ... let's go to the second edition !
